Bay State Hot Jazz Festival Organizers
Annie Linders
Annie Linders is a bandleader, organizer, and musician in the Boston area. Born in St. Louis, MO, she has always been a fan of traditional jazz, swing, hot jazz, delta blues, and string band music. Annie plays a variety of instruments including trumpet, trombone, guitar, drums, and vocals. She is the bandleader of local trad jazz band Annie and the Fur Trappers. Annie founded the Medford Trad Jazz festival back in 2023. In addition to music, Annie enjoys playing hardcourt bicycle polo.
Michael Buonaiuto
Michael Buonaiuto is a jug band and early jazz aficionado and musician. He is the founder of the Great Northeast Jug Band Festival, and leads a monthly jug band jam in his hometown of Arlington, MA. He plays a variety of fifths-tuned instruments (banjos, tenor guitars, and mandolins), builds home-made instruments from found objects and hardware store staples, and collects stringed instruments built in the jazz age. When his fingers aren’t on a fretboard, he helps wrangle his herd of grandchildren, volunteers to walk beaches to rescue cold-stunned turtles, and dabbles in sculpture. Matthew Berlin
Matthew Berlín plays upright bass and practices law in Boston. A frequent contributor to the Boston music scene, he plays, records and produces in the jazz, blues and folk idioms locally and nationally. His role as co-producer of the BASH jazz festival is a product of both his participation in the music program and his work in philanthropy.
