Seacoast Revival Early Jazz Band
We use full instrumental arrangements from 3 basic sources, Simply Early Jazz, Jimmy McPartland and Paul Severson. We like to play tunes people know and some that are just fun to play. We have tunes in our book from the 10's 20's, 30's and 40's but we're heavy on the 20's and before. From Figidty Feet and Chimes Blues to Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans and Hello Dolly with a lot of stuff in between.
2-Bit Brass Band
Stomps, swing, second line, and...Super Mario? Traditional jazz standards with a sprinkle of video game music performed via a two by two arrangement of sax, trombone, sousaphone, and percussion.
Riverboat Stompers
The Riverboat Stompers focuses on trad jazz and emulates the New Orleans style. Instrumentation includes: cornet, clarinet, trombone, tuba, banjo, piano, & drums. Much of what we perform involves singing the lyrics: these may include novelty or funny / satirical tunes. The band plays the old barnburners with a lot of pace and energy.
The Smack Dabs
Swing blues from the 1930s!
The Smack Dabs specialize in good-time Swing Blues music from the 1930s, featuring the songs of Tampa Red, Big Bill Broonzy, The Harlem Hamfats, and many others.
This delightful and timeless genre features a rich variety of musical styles, ranging from mournful blues to joyful celebrations, setting the stage for incredible solo and group improvisations and delighting audiences and dancers alike.
Josiah Reibstein and the Hub Tones
This all-star group of Boston area trad jazz musicians have all played in many different bands together in various permutations; this group synthesizes their collective repertoire choices, leadership styles, and musical experience. They specialize in tight arrangements, slightly modernized, of classic NOLA and trad tunes.
