The Mood Swings Orchestra is a not-for-profit, 20-piece big band, in the style of the traditional dance bands of the 1930s, 1940s and beyond. Their core personnel are all women.
Formed in 2003, The Mood Swings Orchestra has entertained dancers and audiences throughout the Boston area, in venues including Ryles Jazz Club, Johnny D’s, the Top of the Hub, the Copley Plaza, and Swingtime Boston, as well as many local senior centers and nursing homes.
The members are accomplished musicians living their fantasy lives by playing music purely for the love of it! By day they are students, consultants, moms, business executives, engineers, scientists, artists, and educators.
